The Lawang Sewu

If remembering the Semarang City, our memory will be directed to Simpang Lima. The intersection in the centre of this Semarang City was indeed unique. The meeting of five really road axes, tonight this region was filled up by the stallholder. The three floors building  was stylish art deco (1850-1940) this the work of the Dutch architect famous, Prof Jacob F Klinkhamer and BJ Queendag. The Semarang community mentioned him the Lawang Sewu, that meaning the One thousand Door. This monumental building indeed had many doors on his two wings. 

Currently this grand building  did not only interesting in an arsitektural manner.  The mystical atmosphere that emerged as a result of the clarity during the last 13 years became the power sold special for local tourists and foreign countries.
